Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia held a high-level meeting today with Mr. Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America to discuss Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reform program, expanding investment opportunities, and the growing partnership between the two countries.

ADDIS ABABA, January 20, 2026 – The Ministry of Finance convened the Joint Consultation Group under the Ethiopia–Norway Partnership on Forest and Climate Change, co-chaired by H.E. Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of Finance, and H.E. Stian Christensen, Ambassador of Norway to Ethiopia.

The Ministry of Finance and National Bank of Ethiopia of Government of Ethiopia announces the successful completion of the joint Fourth Review of its economic reform program, marking an important milestone in the implementation of the Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda.

A high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Shide Mohammed, Minister of Finance, is participating in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos–Klosters, Switzerland, from 19 to 23 January, under the theme “The Spirit of Dialogue.”
