He highlighted Ethiopia’s Homegrown Economic Reform Program 2.0, focusing on agri-food value chains, SMEs, light manufacturing, industrial parks, and services linked to urbanisation. He also underscored the Jobs-First AfCFTA Production Compact for 2026 as a framework to expand employment, strengthen regional value chains, and empower youth and women entrepreneurs.
On 19 January, Minister Shide addressed the panel “The Downing of the New Global Health Architecture,” calling for a fair, predictable, and country-led global health financing system. He highlighted Ethiopia’s successful models, including pooled funding through the SDG Performance Fund, co-financing compacts, and investments in local pharmaceutical production. He reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to the Lusaka Agenda and the principle of “One Plan, One Budget, One Report,” advocating equity, solidarity, and shared responsibility in global health.
The delegation continues its multilateral and bilateral engagements at WEF 2026, joining global leaders to address pressing economic, social, and health challenges.
