The Ministry of Finance and the Ethiopian Communication launched the virtual Bidders Conference of the Telecommunications Sector Liberalization process. The conference is organized for two days with the purpose of providing information to interested bidders and responding to their questions on the process.
The Minister of Finance, H.E. Ahmed Shide, in his remark said that the opening of the telecom sector will lead to healthy competition that will result in improved telecommunications services and increased access that would enable Ethiopia to maximize the transformational opportunities presented by the digital economy.
Delegates of the Ministry of Finance, the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the National Bank of Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Investment Commission, and Ethio-Telecom took part in the video conference presenting essential information to the participants with respect to their organizations mandate on the telecom sector.
Internationally reputable and experienced telecom operators participated in the conference and responses to the questions they have raised were provided by the concerned government representatives and experts.
