Main duties and responsibilities of Gender Directorate

  • Offering Gender trainings (Gender responsive budgeting trainings) to governmental institutions in different level (HOR, sector ministries, regional bureaus) 
  • Evaluating the impact and achievements marked due to Gender guidelines ( GRB guideline) , gender trainings ( GRB trainings)
  • Reviewing the gender responsiveness of the policies, development strategies, programs, regulations and guidelines of the economic sector.
  • Conducting  field visit  monitoring and evaluation of sectors institutions in regard to the institutionalization of GRB
  • Forming  a coalition and working network with women and youth entities
  • In collaboration with the responsible department organizing educational and capacity building trainings for women employees of the institutions
  • Reviewing budget request documents, attending budget hearing with comments on the reviewed budget requests
  • Reviewing sector quarterly and annual  reports from the gender perspective and produce a document 
  • Monitoring the gender responsiveness of the PBS program
  • Organizing the employee profile of the organization in sex disaggregated data
  • Reviewing other sector’s policies, development strategies, programs, regulations and guidelines gender responsiveness.
  • Reviewing the implementation of GRB and identifying the challenges and indicating the appropriate solutions for the challenges
  • Conducting an assessment on the economic and social status of women
