Addis Ababa, December 19, 2025 – H.E. Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, today met with a high-level Dutch delegation at the Grand Palace to discuss strengthening economic relations, supporting debt reforms, and expanding Dutch investment in Ethiopia.

H.E. Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, is participating in the 120th Session of the Council of Ministers of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), currently underway in Brussels, Belgium.
The Ministry of Finance has a long tradition of supporting economic growth in Ethiopia.
However, despite the high economic growth that was realized over the past decade, Ethiopia’s economy has encountered several challenges that make it difficult for growth to sustain.
This has led us to examine the quality of this growth, evaluate whether these economic gains are based on solid foundations and see how they are being distributed.
