February 29, 2024 – The Finance Minister H.E. Ahmed Shide conducted a productive discussion with UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director for Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations, Mr. Edward Chaiban.

The meeting focused on Ethiopia’s current development and humanitarian issues and on ongoing efforts to address urgent challenges in the country.

The two sides agreed on the need for international partners’ timely and scaled up response to climate related shocks,drought and related humanitarian needs.

Mr. Chaiban reiterated UNICEF’s commitment to help create momentum for international support behind Ethiopia’s efforts to stability, recovery and addressing humanitarian and development needs in a comprehensive manner.
